Our addiction treatment specialists will work with you to devise a medication treatment program that will help you manage your substance use and get back to living a normal life. It won't be easy but it will help you bring your substance abuse under control.

Treating Both the Effects and Causes of Substance Abuse

We utilize a variety of treatments to reduce your dependence on opioids, alcohol, and other addictive substances. To help stabilize cravings and withdrawals, our providers prescribe proven medications such as buprenorphine (e.g. Suboxone® and Sublocade®) and naltrexone (Vivitrol®).

Our providers also seek out the root causes of your substance use. Thanks to our dual focus on both addiction and pain management, VMW is uniquely able to treat the pain that is often a trigger for patients with substance use disorder. We also perform mental health screenings to understand the overall health of the patient and offer medication management for mild-to-moderate anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

We're also focused on your continuing progress. We highly encourage all our patients to participate in some form of counseling, AA/NA meetings, intensive outpatient treatment (IOP), or inpatient care, depending on the severity of their substance abuse. We want all our patients to receive the counseling and the continuing treatment they need.

A Multi-Therapy Treatment Approach

Our providers offer a multi-therapy approach to treating substance use disorders. We focus on treating both the effects and the root causes of addiction.

Medication-Assisted Treatment

To help stabilize cravings and withdrawals, our providers prescribe proven medications such as buprenorphine (e.g. Suboxone®, Sublocade®) and naltrexone (Vivitrol®). Buprenorphine is an FDA-approved medication used to treat opioid use disorder (OUD). It is less addictive than other medication-based treatments and prone to fewer side effects.

Suboxone® is one of the more effective buprenorphine variants. Suboxone® contains buprenorphine combined with naloxone and is a safer alternative to other prescription opioids, such as Vicodin and OxyContin. It can be used safely for long periods of time without the risks of tolerance associated with opioid use.

Mental Health Counseling and Screenings

We perform regular mental health screenings to better understand your overall health. Mental health counseling is also available to help you deal with addictive behavior and we offer medication management for mild-to-moderate anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

Continuing Counseling

At Valley Medical, we're focused on your continuing progress. We highly encourage all our patients to participate in some form of outside counseling, AA/NA meetings, intensive outpatient program (IOP), or inpatient care, depending on the severity of your substance abuse. We want you to receive the counseling and the continuing treatment you need to beat your addictions—and we can help you coordinate this care with our treatment.
