UMN Fellowship Program

Valley Medical and Wellness is a proud participant in the University of Minnesota's Addiction Medicine Fellowship, a one-year training program for up-and-coming medical professionals. The goal is for each Fellow to become an expert in the prevention, clinical evaluation, treatment and ongoing care of persons with addiction.

Each Fellow's training includes experiences in consult/liaison, adolescents with substance use, pharmacotherapies, withdrawal management, and outpatient therapies and is informed by a wide range of evidence-based therapies. The Fellowship is open to physicians of all specialties and is accredited by ACGME and the American Board of Addiction Medicine.

Valley Medical welcomes one new Fellow to our clinics each quarter. The Fellow works with our medical staff one day a week to obtain hands-on experience in helping patients with substance use disorder.

Valley Medical's participation in the Addiction Medicine Fellowship is just one component of our dedication to advancing the education of young medical professionals. Many of our staff have used their experience in our clinics to springboard admission into medical school and further their medical careers. We look forward to working with the UMN Fellows as they gain experience working with our patients in a real-world environment.
